A Fun-Filled Hour @ Beyond Social Services

In August 2019, HappyHappy dropped by Beyond Social Services at Jalan Klinik to conduct an outreach session.
Beyond Social Services is a charity dedicated to helping children and youths from less privileged backgrounds break away from the poverty cycle.
On the day that we came by, there were eight primary school students taking part in a programme called LIFE – Learning Is Fun and Exciting – offered by Beyond Social Services. LIFE reaches out to primary school children who face educational challenges among others.
Eight volunteers including several students from Hwa Chong Junior College were present to coach the children to get them up to speed with the primary school curriculum.
These free tutoring sessions under the LIFE programme are conducted twice a week. Each session lasts one and a half hours.
Kudos to Beyond Social Services and the kind-hearted volunteers. Keep up the good work!
HappyHappy shared with the primary school students and volunteers a few activities that promote mindfulness and aid in stress relief. These activities include mindful breathing, mindful colouring and writing in a gratitude journal.
